Light Giver 4

Spirit Within, Within the Spirit
And Salvation, filled with a holy spirit, turned back away from the Descent ("Jordan"), and was led within the Spirit, within the Desolate One,
ἔρημος eremos - desolate, solitary, deserted
מדבר midbar - mouth, speech, place of words, "wilderness"

"Like a scarlet thread are the Lips of yourself, and the mouth/place of words [midbar] of yourself is lovely; like a half of a pomegranate is the tender side of yourself separated against the tightly bound one of yourself."

(Song of Songs 4:3 RBT)

for forty days, he who is being put to the test underneath the Accuser, and he did not eat anything within Those Days, and of those who have been completed together of themselves, he was hungry.
And the Accuser said to self, "If a son you are, of the God, speak to the Stone, this one, so that he might become a bread loaf."
μόνος- Alone, only, solitary, single
And the Salvation separated toward himself, "It has been written/drawn that not upon a lone bread will the Man live."
στιγμῇ stigmē speck - The Smallest of all seeds
And he who has led up himself, brought to light to self all the Queens of the Inhabited World within a small point of time.19
And the Accuser said to himself, "To yourself I will give the Authority, the whole of this one, and the Glory of themselves, because she has been handed over to myself, and I am giving herself to whosoever I want.
The Point of Time
στιγμή (stigmē) a dot or point

Therefore, if you, yourself will fall prostrate/kiss in the eye of myself, the whole will be of yourself."
And the Salvation, he who has been separated, said to self, "It has been written/drawn, You will fall prostrate/kiss a master, the God of yourself, and to self alone you will work for hire."
And he led himself into Foundation of Peace ("Jerusalem"), and set up upon the Little Wing of the Sacred Place and said to self, "If a son you are, of the God, cast your own self on this side down.
For it has been written/drawn that he will give orders to the Angels of himself around yourself, of the Guarding Thoroughly of yourself.
And that upon hands they will lift up yourself, lest ever you should strike the Foot of yourself toward a stone."
And he who has been separated, the Salvation, said to self that it has been said you will not put to the proof a master, the God of yourself.
And he who has completed together every trial/experiment, the Accuser stood off away from himself until an opportune time.
And the Salvation returned within the Powerful One of the Spirit into the Circuit and a prophetic voice went out down through the whole Surrounding Region around himself.
And he, himself was teaching within the Gatherings of themselves, he who is being glorified below everyone.
And he came into Guarded One ("Nazareth"), where he was being him who has been nourished/nursed, and he entered according to that which was accustomed to self, within the Day of the Cessations, into the Gathering and he stood up to know certainly.
ἀναπτύξας - Unfolded
And a little papyrus roll/book was handed over to self, of the Prophet He Is Liberates Himself ("Isaia-hu"), and he who has unfolded the Little Book, he found the Place/Position where he was being that which has been written/drawn,
A Position Within

"He has unfolded the words of yourself, he has illuminated..."

συντετριμμένους - Smashed to smithereens, Pulverized, Reduced to dust
A spirit of a master upon myself, for the sake of which he anointed myself to gospelize to cowering beggars! He has sent away myself to heal the ones who have been ground down to nothing20 in the Heart, to proclaim to captives-of-the-spear a release, and to smoke-blind ones a looking up, to send away those who have been broken in pieces within a letting go,
συντετριμμένους

Rubbed/Ground Down
Blown to pieces
Demolished
Crash
Shivered to Atoms
Psychological collapse
Emotional ruin

(cf. Footnote - A Crushed Spirit Who Can Bear?)

ἐνιαυτός → “a cycle” / “a ring”
to proclaim an accepted cycle of a master!
And he who has folded together the Little Roll/Book, he who has delivered back to the Underrower, sat down and all the Eyes within the Gathering, they were being those who are staring intently at self.
πτύσσω - fold, double up

Today
And he began to say toward themselves that Today is filled up the Writing, herself within the Ears of yourselves!
And everyone was bearing witness to self, and they were astonished upon the Words of the Grace, the ones who are leading out from out of the Mouth of himself and they were saying, "Is he not a son of He Adds ("Joseph"), this one?"
And he said toward themselves, "By all means you will speak to myself the Comparison, this one: Physician treat your own self, as much as we heard those things that have become into the Covering of Comfort ("Capernaum"), make also in here, within the Fatherland of yourself!"
And he said, "Trustworthy One21b I am speaking to yourselves, that no one is an accepted prophet within the Fatherland of himself.
Widows Multitudinous...No good living Men...
And on a true one I am speaking to yourselves, widows multitudinous were being within the Days of God is Himself ("Elija-hu") within the God Contends ("the Israel") when the Heavenly One was shut up/barred upon three cycles of time and six moons, even as a mega starvation became upon all the Earthly One!
And toward none of themselves was God is Himself ("Elija-hu") sent, except into Refinement ("Zarephath") of the Hunt ("the Tsidon"), toward a widow woman.
And they were being scaly ones multitudinous within the God Contends ("Israel") during God is Salvation ("Elisha") the Prophet, and none of themselves was cleansed except Pleasant ("Naaman"), the Adversity ("Syrian").21

In Chronos, being is divided up moment by moment, one moment begetting the next moment, (e.g. a son of a human) resulting in a fragmented, "scaly" self instead of a "one piece interwoven fine linen" self where all moments are begotten as one being (e.g. son of God).

And they were filled up everyone of passion/soul, within the Gathering, those who are hearing these things.
And those who stood up, they cast out himself, outside of the City, and they led himself up to an eyebrow of the Mountain on which she had been home-built, the City of themselves insofar as to throw himself down a cliff.
The Eyebrow

A precipice for casting himself into the depths of Hades/the Underworld

The Torch
But himself, he who passed straight across through the middle of themselves, he was leading over.
And he came down into Covering of Comfort ("Capernaum"), a city of the Circuit and was him who is teaching themselves within the Cessations.
And they were driven out of their wits over the Doctrine of himself, because the Logos Ratio of Himself was within an authority.
The Gathering Speaks
And within the Gathering he was being a man who is holding a spirit of demonic power of an unclean one, and he cawed out with a mega voice,
"Aha! Who is to ourselves and to yourself, Salvation, Sproutling ("Nazarene")? You came to destroy away ourselves! I have seen yourself, who you are, the Holy One of the God!"
And the Salvation bestowed honor to self, he who is saying, "Be muzzled, and come out away from himself!" And the Demonic Power, that which flung himself, came out away from himself into the Middle, not harming himself at all.
And an amazement became upon everyone, and they kept chatting jointly toward one another, those who are saying, "What is This Word, that within an authority and a powerful one he is commanding the Unclean spirits, and they are coming out?"
And an echo was leading out around from himself into every place of the Surrounding Region.
συνεχομένη πυρετῷ - Constrained/closed in/held back by a Fiery Heat
And he who has stood up, away from the Gathering, entered into the House of Hearing ("Simon"), and a mother-in-law of the Hearing, she was her who is constrained by a mega fiery heat, and they asked himself around herself.
And he who has set up on the upper part of herself, he bestowed honor to the Fiery Heat, and he hurled away herself immediately, and she who rose up was ministering to themselves.
Get a hold of yourself, man

ποικίλλω - to fashion curious art, embroidered work, to adorn with variety
And of the Sun, him who is sinking, the whole, as many as were holding ones weakened by diverse colored embroidered diseases/plagues, they led themselves toward himself, and the one, to each one of themselves, he who is laying upon the Hands, was treating themselves.
κραυγάζω kraugázō - Inarticulate, howling, Animal Sounds
And also demonic spirits were coming out away from multitudinous of those who are howling and who are saying that you, yourself are the Son of the God, and he who is bestowing honor was not allowing themselves to chat, because they had realized the Anointed One himself to be.
And as she became a day, he who has gone out led across into a solitary place, and the Multitudes kept seeking after himself, and they came until himself, and they kept holding back himself, of the Not Leading Across away from Themselves.
And the one said toward themselves that it is necessary for myself to also gospelize the Queen of the God to other cities, because for this purpose I was sent away.
And he was him who is proclaiming into the Gatherings of the Caster ("Judean").

The Greek ὁ διάβολος εἰς ὄρος ὑψηλὸν "the devil, into a high mountain" is not found in the earlier manuscripts.

20 (Verse 18)

A Crushed Spirit Who Can Bear?

συντρίβω, to rub together, shivering to atoms is an expressive way to describe συντρίβω in its most extreme sense—utter destruction into tiny, irreparable fragments.

This phrase captures:

  1. Total disintegration → not just breaking, but reducing to minuscule parts, akin to shattering glass or exploding into splinters.
  2. Sudden, violent action → a forceful rupture, like a pot breaking into shards (τὴν χύτραν συντρίψασα, Plato Hp. Maior 290e).

Parallels in Greek Thought

  • Aristophanes (Pax 71) → συντρίβῆναι τῆς κεφαλῆς (to have one’s head shattered).
  • Thucydides (4.11) → συντρίβειν τὰς ναῦς (to stave in ships, breaking them apart).
  • Euripidesσυντρίβω = contundere (Latin: to pound, pulverize).

Etymological Force

  • συν- (together, completely) + τρίβω (rub, wear down, crush)
  • The root τρίβω already implies grinding, wearing down, but συν- amplifies it to total destruction.

Modern English Parallels

  • Smash to smithereens
  • Pulverize
  • Reduce to dust

While συντρίβω primarily signifies grinding, smashing, and shattering, it is frequently used metaphorically to express mental, emotional, or existential destruction across different genres of Greek literature.

1. Philosophy & Intellectual Metaphors

In philosophical texts, συντρίβω often describes the shattering of ideas, hopes, or intellectual constructs—not just physical destruction.

  • Aristophanes, Vespae 1050συντρίβειν τὴν ἐπίνοιαν (to shatter one's design or thought)
    • Here, συντρίβω signifies intellectual failure, as if an idea were physically smashed.
  • Demades (12), Demosthenes (10.44)συντρίβειν τὴν ἐλπίδα (to crush hope).
    • Like καταγνύω, it implies a total loss of expectation.
  • Polybius (21.13.2)συντρίβειν τῇ διανοίᾳ (mentally shattered).
    • Used to describe extreme psychological exhaustion.

Philosophical Connection:

  • Plato (Republic 611d) uses συντετριμμένος to describe the crushed parts of the soul, showing a metaphysical use of the word.
  • The idea of συντρίβω as the collapse of one’s mental structure aligns with Stoic and Platonic thought on the fragility of human perception.
2. Tragedy & Emotional Ruin

Greek tragedy often applies συντρίβω to overwhelming grief, loss, or defeat.

  • Euripides, Cyclops 705ἐπειὸς σε συντρίψω (for I will crush you).
    • Here, συντρίβω implies utter physical domination, but the Cyclops' defeat also symbolizes humiliation and psychological collapse.
  • Plutarch (Moral. 165b)δέος συντρίβει τὸν ἄνθρωπον (fear crushes a man).
    • Fear is likened to a grinding force that destroys the will.
  • Menander (Epitrepontes 561)ὁ τρόπος συντρίβει σε (your character crushes you).
    • Here, one’s own personality is the destructive force.

Tragic Connection:

  • Tragedy uses συντρίβω to express total defeat—physical, emotional, or existential.
  • It conveys irreversibility (like a shattered vessel cannot be restored).

21b (Verse 24)

Ἀμὴν Amen, trustworthy/faithful one, see note at John 1:51

21 (Verse 27)

From צרה (tsarah) #6869. Hebrew, צרה refers to trouble, distress, adversity, or affliction. It describes situations of adversity or hardship, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. Commonly used in the Hebrew Bible to express the challenges faced by individuals or communities, hence the "many holding many-colored blows/plagues" in Psalm 34:19: "Many are the adversities (צרוֹת) of the just..."
