Revelation 20:2

Καὶ ἐκράτησε τὸν δράκοντα, τὸν ὄφιν τὸν ἀρχαῖον, ὅς ἐστι διάβολος καὶ ὁ Σατανᾶς, ὁ πλανῶν τὴν οἰκουμένην ὅλην, καὶ ἔδησεν αὐτὸν χίλια ἔτη,

ἐκράτησεν - to be chief, be master of, to rule, take control: Taming the Dragon

And he took control over the Dragon, the Ancient Serpent, whoever is being an accuser and the Adversary, and he chained himself, a thousand year-cycles.²³

Rev 20:2

τὸν δράκοντα "the dragon" is in the accusative and is the direct object, but the following words τὸν ὄφιν τὸν ἀρχαῖον "the serpent the original/ancient" are in the nominative, meaning they are not exactly the direct object of the verb "he took control/mastery over"
