Luke 5:3

Ἐμβὰς δὲ εἰς ἓν τῶν πλοίων, ὃ ἦν τοῦ Σίμωνος, ἠρώτησεν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἐπαναγαγεῖν ὀλίγον. Καὶ καθίσας ἐδίδασκεν ἐκ τοῦ πλοίου τοὺς ὄχλους.

And he who has stepped into one of the Ships, one which was being of Hearing, asked himself to lead up a little one away from the Earthly One, and he who has sat down out of the Ship kept teaching the Multitude.^21c

And having gone into one of the ships, which was Simon's, he asked him to sail out a little from land. And having sat down, he taught the crowds out of the ship.

And entering into one of the boats, which was Simon's, He asked him to put out a little from the land. And sitting down, He taught the crowd from the boat.

Luk 5:3

By itself, the participial phrase καθίσας ἐκ τοῦ πλοίου employs ἐκ to mark the spatial source prior to the posture-action. The construction compresses two sequential events—disembarkation and seating—into a single participial unit. The sense is thus: “after coming out of the boat, he sat down,” i.e., “having sat down after disembarking.” The phrase, by itself, cannot mean “sat in the boat,” nor does it imply a causative (“having seated someone”). However the presence of another verb "teaching" and flexibility of Greek word order can lead one to translate the order differently, depending on their bias (e.g. teaching out of the boat).
