הגורל goral - small stone determining lot/fate/destiny
And they are speaking, each man toward the friend of himself, "Walk! and we are casting down small stones, and we are perceiving whose is this Evil one to ourselves!" And small stones are falling, and the Small Stone is falling upon Dove ("Jonah").
Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And they will say each to his neighbor, Come, and we will cast the lot, and we shall know for the retributions of this evil to us. And they will cast lots, and the lot will fall upon Jonah.
LITV Translation:
And they said, each man to his companion, Come and let us cast lots, that we may know on whose account this evil occurred to us. And they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.
Brenton Septuagint Translation:
And each man said to his neighbor, Come, let us cast lots, and find out for whose sake this mischief is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.
