RBT Translation:
ἡδοναῖς ποικίλαις - diversely embroidered pleasures
For at one time we kept being unintelligible, impersuasible, those who are wandering, those who being slaves to longings and diverse embroidered pleasures within a malicious evil and envy, those who are leading across hated ones, those who are hating reciprocally,
"I despise myself,
there is no good in me!""You are on the right path,
He is near,
even at your door!"
there is no good in me!""You are on the right path,
He is near,
even at your door!"
Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
For once we also were unwise disobedient, deceived, being slaves to eager desires and various pleasures, living in vexation and envy, hated, and hating one another.
For once we also were unwise disobedient, deceived, being slaves to eager desires and various pleasures, living in vexation and envy, hated, and hating one another.
LITV Translation:
For we also once were senseless, disobedient, led astray, slaving for various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
For we also once were senseless, disobedient, led astray, slaving for various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
