Footnotes
| Mic. 1:1 | Mic. 1:1 Micah's name in this form, מיכה has been interpreted as an "abbreviation" of מיכיה "Micayah" because it does not contain Yah יה. As written however it relates to either כה "like thus/this manner" or the longer form כמוה "like her." Cf. Hebrew kemoah "like her" in 1 Samuel 21:10: ויאמר דוד אין כמוה תננה לי And Beloved ("David") is saying, "There is none like herself, give her to myself!" |
