Ὅταν δὲ νηστεύητε, μὴ γίνεσθε ὥσπερ οἱ ὑποκριταὶ σκυθρωποί· ἀφανίζουσι γὰρ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν, ὅπως φανῶσι τοῖς ἀνθρώποις νηστεύοντες· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἀπέχουσι τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν.
RBT Translation:
And when you fast do not become like the gloomy Stage Actors, for they are putting out of view/disfiguring the Faces of themselves so that they might appear to the Men as those who are fasting. Trustworthy One, I am saying to yourselves they are holding back the Wage of themselves!
Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And when ye fast, be not, as hypocrites, of gloomy aspect: for they conceal their faces that they might appear to men fasting. Verily I say to you, That they have their reward.
LITV Translation:
And when you fast, do not be as the hypocrites, darkening the face, for they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you that they have their reward.
