RBT Paraphrase:
The Mediator
And he is interposing himself toward He Is, and he is saying, "Ah please He Is! Is not this one a word of myself until the becoming of myself2 upon the ground of myself? Upon an upright one I have come in front to flee into Precious Gem of Herself ("Tarshishah"), for I have perceived that your eternal self is a mighty one of grace and he who is compassionate,3 long of dual nostrils, and a multiplying kindness, and he who has relented/repented on account of the Friend.
Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
And he will pray to Jehovah and say, Ah, now, O Jehovah, was not this my word while I was upon my land? For this I anticipated to flee to Tarshish, for I knew that thou art merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and of much kindness, and lamenting for evil.
LITV Translation:
And he prayed to Jehovah, and said, Please, O Jehovah, was this not my word while I was on my own land? On account of this, I fled to Tarshish before, for I knew that You are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and One who repents over calamity.
Brenton Septuagint Translation:
And he prayed to the Lord, and said, O Lord, were not these my words when I was yet in my land? therefore I made haste to flee to Tarshish; because I knew that thou art merciful and compassionate, long-suffering, and abundant in kindness, and repentest of evil.
