in order to confirm these days of Purim in their set times, according as Mordecai the Jew and the queen had ordered them, and as they had decreed for themselves, and for their seed, the matters of the fastings and of their cry.

And Mordecai and Esther the queen appointed a fast for themselves privately, even at that time also having formed their plan against their own health.
