Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
At that time these men ran together with tumult to the king, and saying to the king, Know, O king, that the law to Media and Persia is, that every interdict and statute that the king shall set up is not to be changed.
LITV Translation:
Then these men met before the king and said to the king, O king, know that the law of the Medes and Persians is that every ban or law which the king enacts may not be changed.
Brenton Septuagint Translation:
Then the king, when he heard the saying, was much grieved for Daniel, and he greatly exerted himself for Daniel to deliver him: and he exerted himself till evening to deliver him.
