Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
At that time they drew near, and saying before the king concerning the interdict of the king, Didst thou not sign an interdict that every man that shall seek from any God and man even for thirty days, except from thee, O King, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The word is certain, according to the law of Media and Persia, that shall not pass away.
LITV Translation:
Then they came near and spoke before the king concerning the king's ban, saying , Have you not signed a ban that every man who shall ask of any god or man within thirty days, except of you, O king, that he shall be thrown into the lions' den? The king answered and said, The thing is certain, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not pass away.
