Τότε ἀπελθὼν ὁ στρατηγὸς σὺν τοῖς ὑπηρέταις ἤγαγεν αὐτούς, οὐ μετὰ βίας, ἐφοβοῦντο γὰρ τὸν λαόν, ἵνα μὴ λιθασθῶσιν.

At that time the General, he who has gone away united with the under-rowers, kept leading themselves not in company with a violence, for they were afraid of the People, lest they should be stoned.
