The Salvation Wiped Out

If you can't be trusted with the small, how can you be trusted with the great?

The Greek reads ἡ σωτηρία, a feminine noun with the definite article, indicating a specific, identified salvation — not salvation in a general or abstract sense. Koine Greek often uses the article to mark a particular instance, title, or concept previously introduced or assumed to be known to the audience. English translations have erased “the” rendering simply “salvation,” obscuring the definiteness implied in the Greek. A more precise rendering would preserve the article as “the salvation.”

The precise rendering of ἐν ἀνθρώποις is "within men" not "among men" two concepts completely opposed. The idiomatic rendering implies a name separate of men, the precise rendering implies a name within men.
