Self Blessed

Thayer's conjecture on this bizarre hapax word ἐνευλογέομαι which is only found in the New Testament and not in secular authors:

"the preposition seems to refer to the person on whom the blessing is conferred" (Strong's #1757)

completely misses the quoted Hebrew, התברכו in Genesis 22:18 which is a Hithpael reflexive, reciprocal, self-generative perfect verb form meaning. "they have self blessed" or "they have blessed their own selves." Scholars not down with such words of self-anything are disposed to just ignore or concoct meanings based on nothing. No one got this word right because the idea of "in-blessed" and the reflexive "they blessed themselves" is obviously contrary to all church dogma that has ever existed.
