Ἴδετε ποταπὴν ἀγάπην δέδωκεν ἡμῖν ὁ πατήρ, ἵνα τέκνα Θεοῦ κληθῶμεν. Διὰ τοῦτο ὁ κόσμος οὐ γινώσκει ὑμᾶς, ὅτι οὐκ ἔγνω αὐτόν.
RBT Translation:
Behold! from what land the father has given an agape-love to ourselves, so that we might be summoned as Children of God, and we are because of this. The order does not recognize ourselves because he has not recognized himself!
Julia Smith Literal 1876 Translation:
See ye, what kind of love the Father has given us, that we should be called the children of God: for this the world knows us not, for it knew him not.
LITV Translation:
See what manner of love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
